B.Com (CA)

B.Com (Computer Application) is a three year undergraduate course. It is designed to have an understanding in the field of commerce especially in the discipline that involves the use of software technology application. The course is designed in manner to equip students with the knowledge in commerce as well as in the field of computer programming and computer system. Under this programme the students would be taught the basics of commerce like accountancy, marketing, statistics along with the basics of computer language, computer application in business, etc.

COMMERCE WITH COMPUTER APPLICATION

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications was established in the year 2000 and has become one of the leading departments in the commerce stream at MCW. To begin with there were 10 students and 3 faculty members and now the Department has expanded with 11 faculty members and 350 students.

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications is well known for the high quality education it offers with the dedicated service of well qualified and well experienced faculty who are highly qualified and experts in their respective fields.

The Department organized 2 International and 3 National level Conferences and many workshops.

The uniqueness of the department is “Hands-on Training” combined with best industry practices is more valuable than years of theoretical study for Commerce with Computer Application. The department offers TALLY GST in association with Kalvi Institute. This educational model allows gaining more practical knowledge during the course of study.

A well-equipped Computer laboratory with 70 computer systems is available for the students. Internet facility is available with 100Mbps broadband connection. Adequate number of printers and power back-up provisions are available.

The Alumni of the Department are well placed in the fields of Banking and finance, General management, Civil services and Academics. Many are successfully managing their own Business establishments or are reputed Chartered Accountants.

Welcome to the Department of Commerce with Computer Application at Mangayarkarasi College of Arts and Science for women. We started our journey in the year 2000. The department introduced a three year full time degree program B. Com (Computer Application) The two year Post Graduate degree Programme M.Com (CA) commenced from the year 2009. The Department offered Graduate and Post Graduate   programme enriched in core learning challenges and opportunities. The Commerce (CA) Department   develops students with Professional Knowledge in the field of Commerce and Computer Application. We seek to be renowned for our distinctive curriculum emphasizing work- integrated learning, learning-based work, problem solving and cultural skills. The Department is full of energetic, determined and passionate faculty members always going beyond. Our prime objective is to prepare our student centric teaching and learning methodology that helps students face challenges of life. The holistic approach of our department encourages students to include in curriculum, co curriculum, and extra curriculum activities to shape them as future leaders.  We as a team resolve to take the department to highlight of success and glory and prepare for the forthcoming challenge.

  • Commerce with computer Application gives a deeper understanding of both Information Technology and Commerce, thereby enabling the budding graduates to pursue careers in either of the two fast-growing areas, viz. IT Industry, Commerce, and Financial sector.
  • On Successful Completion of this subject the students should have: – E-Commerce , E-Market , EDI , Business Strategies etc.,
  • Communicate effectively with the accounting professional & IT community and with society at large.
    Be able to comprehend and write effective reports documentation. Make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • Apply the knowledge of mathematics, Social science, accounting fundamentals, and computer specialization to the solution of complex accounting & management problems.

  • To enable the students to get ready for employment in functional areas like Accounting. Taxation, Banking, Insurance and problem solving skills.
