             Learning is an intense process which spreads from an individual to the society. It inculcates a spirit of success. To be a vibrant and innovative Center for commerce education and to equip the younger generation with knowledge and skills in commerce stream, the Department was established. The Department aims to develop skilled human resources, to provide opportunities for the students to realize their potential and shape them to entrepreneurs and industrialists. Committed faculties, innovative methods help the students to learn and consolidate their understanding of the subjects.

            Commerce Lab was Setup to inculcate knowledge in commerce among students of both commerce and non-commerce streams. Post Graduate students are encouraged to organized programmes. The Department also motivate the students to participate in various seminars, workshop and competitions organized by neighborhood colleges. The faculty members of the Department include our old students also. The students are groomed by carrier guidance programmes to face the challenges of employment market.

About Us

The department of commerce was established at the inception of the college and is one of the oldest departments in the college, has completed 20 years of existence, proving its excellence in the field of commerce. The department came into existence with the launching of the B.COM degree course in 1997. Ever since its inception, the department has maintained an exalted academic profile which is reflected in the outstanding academic performance of the students. In the recognition of its remarkable achievements, it had been elevated to a Post Graduate Department of Commerce in 2017. At present, 628 students are studying in our esteemed department. The department aims at developing knowledge, skill, attitude, and values through dynamic and interactive methods of teaching. We have eminent & efficient faculty members to inspire aspiring enthusiastic students by inculcating the academic and career disciplines besides the real value of life. The department regularly conducts guest lectures, and seminars to imbibe provisions on value addition to the students and for the benefit of the academic fraternity. Newly started B.Com (PA) in the year of 2021.

  • To provide quality education of commerce to the pupils.

Keeping with the Department’s mission of “imparting wholesome Commerce education to young women from all strata of society and empower them to face the challenges of business environment with ethical values”, the Department continues to focus all its activities towards wholesome personality development of students by providing adequate training, organizing debates, extempore challenges, inter departmental and inter collegiate competitions, workshops, seminars etc. Over the past 38 years the Department has been striving hard to keep pace with the changing economic and business scenario around the globe. The Commerce Association continues to provide opportunities for students to develop creativity, inter personal skills, communication skills, leadership qualities and team spirit. We also provide opportunity for industrial visits and motivational visit to the leading academic institutes within and outside the state. The Department of Commerce of Bishop Chulaparambil Memorial College has striven tirelessly in pursuit of excellence in commerce education.

The association is aimed to transform students into national assets by imbibing business skills, integrity, ethical uprightness and a real holistic development. Department of Commerce is dedicated to excellence in performance and committed to provide quality education, opportunities and services to meet the needs of business and also contribute for the society’s well-being, nation’s development and to meet global competencies. Therefore the association has set up its objectives to provide students an in-depth understanding of the dynamic business environment, make every student an agent of change by making them socially responsible and facilitate learning of commerce education by incorporating the current trends and to impart skills to enhance the employability.
