Department of Chemistry was established in the year 2020, currently offers B.Sc Chemistry, a three year undergraduate programme. Along with the core subject knowledge the UG curriculum is on par with current trends in the field of chemistry, with course papers such as Spectroscopy, Nano Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, etc. The department owns the club “Ninjas” for the benefit of staff and students by organizing various events viz. workshops, quiz, intra departmental activities, industrial visits, etc. The department has excellent infrastructure with well-equipped and spacious laboratory which meets out the demands of the modern technology.
Chemistry is called “the central science,” because it bridges physics with other natural sciences, such as geology and biology. Thus, I take this opportunity with desire to express my views about the chemistry department at Mangayarkarasi college of arts and science for women”. The students of the department are highly motivated and talented with good academic record. The department owns the association “Ninjas” for the betterment of the students in technical and other extra-curricular activities where, the students takes the sole responsibilities in coordinating and organizing the events. Throughout the year, on behalf of professional bodies and department association, lots of activities are conducted. Students also actively participate in the cultural and other handicraft events organized by various other departments and also other institutions.
The department holds a well-equipped and spacious laboratory for the progress of the students.
The department also, provides excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members.
They inspire the students to develop their technical skills and inculcate the spirit of team work in them.
Lastly I congratulate the creative and sincere efforts taken by my faculty members and students for the achievement of chemistry Department and I wish all of them a great success in their bright future.
