About Incubation Centre

The Pre-Incubation Centre was sanctioned by Start Up TN. We received the Sanction Order on October 2025.

In a Pre-Incubation Centre, the institution provides infrastructure, mentorship, and technical guidance; Startup TN provides the overall framework, funding support, and guidelines for the centre and Industry Partners offer domain expertise, market insights, and potential collaboration opportunities. Together, these entities work to help early-stage entrepreneurs develop their ideas from concept to a viable product or business model.

Key objectives include:

  • Ideation and Validation:Assisting in identifying, refining, and testing business ideas for commercial viability.
  • Prototype Development:Helping to create a Proof of Concept (PoC) or working prototype.
  • Skill Development:Nurturing entrepreneurial skills and building confidence in aspiring founders.
  • Mentorship and Networking:Connecting, providing guidance, and facilitating access to industry experts.
  • Support Services:Offering shared workspace, basic infrastructure, and guidance on business planning.
  • Fostering Innovation:Cultivating a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation within academic institutions or local communities.

Role of Institution

  • Provide infrastructure: Offer the physical space and necessary facilities for pre-incubation activities.
  • Offer mentorship: Utilize faculty and staff to provide structured guidance and expertise to startups.
  • Provide technical and business guidance: Assist with technical development, prototype creation, and refining business models and strategies.
  • Create a culture of innovation: Foster an environment for aspiring entrepreneurs and students to develop their ideas.

Role of Startup TN

  • Set the framework: Establishes the overall strategy and guidelines for pre-incubation centers across the state.
  • Provide funding: Offers financial support to help establish and operate pre-incubation centers.
  • Enable networking: Creates opportunities for startups to connect with a wider ecosystem of mentors, investors, and other entrepreneurs.
  • Ensure quality and reach: Monitors the centers to ensure they meet the program’s goals and expand its reach to entrepreneurs in Tier II, III, and IV cities.

Role of Industry Partners

  • Offer domain expertise: Provide startups with specialized knowledge in a particular industry.
  • Provide real-world perspective: Give insights into market needs, challenges, and opportunities that are critical for developing a viable product.
  • Facilitate collaboration: Act as potential clients, partners, or investors for the startups, helping them gain traction and move towards a successful launch.
  • Deliver specific training: Conduct workshops or mentorship sessions focused on industry-specific skills and strategies

EVENTS RELATED TO PIC:

1. Sanction Order
We received the sanction order on October 10, 2025 at CODITTSIA , Coimbatore at Global Starup Summit .

2. Incubation Management Training Programme
Date: December 3-5, 2025
Venue: Hotel Tamil Nadu (Unit 1), Ooty

The Certified Incubation Management Training program was organized by Startup TN in association with DPIIT, NITI Aayog, Atal Innovation Mission, and Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Council. The program aimed to provide comprehensive training on incubation management, covering topics such as incubation principles, governance, operations, and financial management.

 Inaguration of Incubation Centre
Mr. SivarajahRamanathan, Mission Director & CEO, Startup TN, inaugurated the Incubation Centre and he spoke about Startup TN’s roles in incubation, entrepreneurship ecosystem, and applications.

The inauguration function aimed to launch the MGI Council for Incubation (Pre-Incubation Centre), fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among students.
