Freshers’ Induction Programme

The Freshers’ Induction Programme was organized on 25.6.2025 at K.P. Auditorium to welcome the first-year students. Former Professor of English, Dr. Jayanthasri Balakrishnan addressed the students and inspired them with her words of wisdom and guidance. The orientation not only boosted their enthusiasm and confidence but also motivated them to excel in their academic pursuits.

MGI Election

The Mangai Student Council Election 2025 was conducted on 22/7/2025 in the computer lab with great enthusiasm and democratic spirit. It aimed to promote leadership, responsibility, and participatory governance among students. The election followed a fair and transparent voting system, ensuring equal opportunity for all candidates. Students from various departments actively participated in the nomination, campaigning, and voting, and cast their votes responsibly in accordance with democratic principles.

VARIETY 2025 and The Investiture Ceremony

VARIETY 2025 and the Investiture Ceremony were celebrated on 25/7/2025 and 26/7/2025. The event was hosted by senior students under the guidance of the Students’ Council and Cultural Committee. Freshers actively participated in the talent show and ramp walk, adding to the festive spirit. The highlight was the energetic dance performances by senior students. Ms. Selva Geetha, RJ of Hello FM, along with dignitaries, conferred badges and sashes on the newly elected leaders, who then took the oath of responsibility, upholding discipline, integrity, and service.

Faculty Capacity Enhancement Programme

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized a Faculty Capacity Enhancement Programme on “Transformative Teaching through Activity-Based Learning” on 28th and 29th November 2025. The session was led by CMA Rakesh Shankar Ravisankar and Dr. R. Sundari, who provided valuable insights into innovative teaching methodologies. The programme focused on engaging students through interactive and activity-oriented learning strategies. Faculty members actively participated and gained practical knowledge to enhance classroom effectiveness. The sessions were highly informative and contributed to improving teaching-learning practices

Alumni Connect

The MAA Alumni Connect program was held on 10th January 2026 to strengthen the bond between the institution and its alumni. The event was graced by distinguished alumni guests Dhanya Sri, Shibi, and Rajil Raj, who shared their experiences and motivated the students. The program featured interactive sessions along with cultural performances, making it lively and engaging. The event concluded successfully, inspiring students and fostering a sense of pride and connection among the alumni

Pongal Celebration

The Pongal celebration was conducted in our institution on 12/01/2026 with great joy and enthusiasm. The campus was decorated with kolam, sugarcane, and traditional pots to create a festive atmosphere. Students and staff participated in the celebration wearing traditional dress. Pongal was prepared in the traditional way, and everyone happily shouted “Pongalo Pongal”. Traditional dances such as Karagam, Poikkal Kuthirai, and folk dance were performed, which made the programme more colourful and lively. Cultural events and speeches about the importance of Pongal were also conducted. The Principal appreciated the participants and spoke about preserving our culture. The celebration ended with the distribution of sweet pongal, and the programme was joyful and memorable for all

MGI Council For Incubation- Grand Opening

The MGI Council for Incubation (Pre-Incubation Center) event was held on 3rd February 2026 to promote innovation and entrepreneurial development among students. The program was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Sivarajah Ramanathan from Startup TN, and presided over by Dr. P. Ashok Kumar. The dignitaries emphasized the importance of startups, innovation, and incubation support for young entrepreneurs. The session inspired students to develop creative ideas and utilize the pre-incubation center effectively, making the event a meaningful and motivating experience

Hackathon

The Institution’s Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Innovation Cell jointly organized the “Inter Institution Innovation Hackathon – Ideate, Ignite, Innovation” on 3rd February 2026 to encourage creative thinking and problem-solving skills among students. The event was graced by Mr. Sivarajah Ramanathan from Startup TN. Participants from various institutions presented innovative ideas and solutions, showcasing their entrepreneurial talents. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners, with ₹2000 for the first place and ₹1000 for the second place, and the event concluded successfully with great enthusiasm and inspiration.

Scholarship - Academic Excellence & Scholarship Awards Day/ Scholarship Award Ceremony/ Scholarship Presentation Ceremony/ Student Scholarship Recognition Program

The Scholarship Award Ceremony was held on 14th February 2026 in gratitude to the philanthropic donors for their generous support towards students’ education. The event was graced by Mr. Pratap Chand Vaish and Mr. Ganga Dhar Choudhary from Sultan Chand Dropadi Devi Educational Foundation. The dignitaries appreciated the students’ academic achievements and encouraged them to strive for excellence. Scholarships were distributed to deserving students, making the occasion meaningful and inspiring, while expressing heartfelt gratitude to the donors.

Walkathon

On 19.02.2026 and 20.02.2026, the rally commenced from Samayanallur and proceeded towards Paravai, with students riding in disciplined formation while raising slogans on women’s safety and responsible road usage. Participants carried placards with traffic symbols and awareness messages, encouraging the public to follow road safety rules and ensure a safe environment for women. The programme was graced by the College Chairman, Dr. P. Ashok Kumar, the Vice Chairman, Er. A. Shakti Pranesh, the Pro-Chairman, Dr. A. Saravana Pradeep Kumar, the Principal, Dr. Uma Baskar, the Dean of Academics, Smt. K. Chendur Priyadharshini, and the club coordinators, whose support made the event successful.

Sports Day

The 29th Annual Sports Meet was held on 28th February 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students. The event was graced by Chief Guest S.V.S.S. Velshankar, Secretary of Madurai Rifle Club, and Guest of Honour A. Veronica Anna Mary. The dignitaries motivated the students with inspiring speeches, emphasizing the importance of sports, discipline, and physical fitness. Various athletic events were conducted, showcasing the talents and sportsmanship of the participants, and the meet concluded successfully with prize distribution and encouragement for continued excellence.

Bikathon

The Bike-A-Thon on Women Empowered Society was conducted on 4th March 2026 to promote awareness about women’s strength, independence, and equality. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and members of the local community, who rode through key areas carrying placards and raising slogans on gender equality and women’s safety. The rally effectively spread a positive message on the importance of empowering women in all aspects of life.
